Illumine Your Soul

Supplication of Saint James for Great Lent
I yearn for your pardon, come to me, Lord.
While there is still time, give me tears to beg for your mercy. For your favors, I thirst, O Lord; without them, I cannot stand. O Sea of Mercy, pour forth on me your overflowing kindness.
I have sinned, O Lord, and I now implore you: accept my petition and remove my sins.
The great abyss of guilt seeks to swallow me. Extend your hand and lift me up, and I will not perish.
The evil One seeks to entrap me in his nets. Destroy his trap, Lord, and set me free. O Good shepherd, search out for the lost sheep. Do not leave me in the hand of the evil One who is after my life.
Glory to your, O Good Shepherd, who redeemed his flock. You came to us to bring back the lost sheep. Who can chant your praises among the singers?
You are hidden to your Father and the Holy Spirit. Glory to you!

Brighten Your Day

""Love is the light -- and in the end, the only light-- that can always illuminate a world grown dim and give us the courage needed to keep living and working. Love is possible, and we are able to practice it because we are created in the image of God. To experience love and in this way to cause the light of God to enter into the world..."

Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est, #39
