Year of Faith Begins

 October 11, 2012 - November 24, 2013

the 50^th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the 20^th anniversary of the promulgation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. 
Likewise, the opening of the Year of Faith coincides with the General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, held this month, with the theme of The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith.
